Discomfort or evolution?
When we go through discomfort in life, we instinctively conclude that something is terribly wrong and that it must be fixed ASAP.
But the more you experience, the more you’ll learn that discomfort is not inherently a sign that things are going wrong. On the contrary, sometimes things may actually be falling into place.
This is where I make the distinction between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ discomfort.
‘Bad discomfort’ is unhealthy, because it negatively affects your confidence, self-esteem and self-perception; it threatens your safety - albeit physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually; it creates confusion and works against your long-term development.
Usually, you end up having to recover and heal from these types of situations and the main lesson you learn is how to avoid them in the future.
‘Good discomfort’, on the other hand, has quite the opposite effect. It teaches you a lot about yourself, others and life in general. It helps you grow in knowledge, experience and wisdom.
Sometimes ‘good discomfort’ is what you feel when the old version of you is recalibrating onto a higher frequency.
You appreciate and value ‘good discomfort’ much more afterwards, because you can see the impact it has had on your evolution and the lessons it has taught you, so you won’t need to avoid it in the future.

Knowing how to distinguish between ‘good’ and ‘bad discomfort’ saves you from panicking at the first sign of chaos. It allows you to sit in the discomfort, observe and understand the experience before trying to escape it.
When you slow down and look closer, you may actually find a lesson buried within the discomfort.
