Trying to cage the evolving mind

The human mind is constantly evolving.

To see what happens when you allow the human mind to thrive is truly fascinating: new ideas surface, great inventions are created, and how one sees the world deepens in complexity.

An evolving mind is truly unpredictable, which makes it quite exciting! You never know when or what will spark the expansion into higher consciousness and this mental activation simply cannot be controlled.

Not even we can control the evolution of our own minds. All we can do is facilitate its growth, stay along for the ride and see where that journey leads.

The funny thing about it is how we, as a society, handle this.

The school system, for example, rewards intelligence and creativity as long as it fits within the confines of the outlined curriculum. Anything beyond that isn’t developed and fostered.

From a young age, they limit your creativity by putting you in a classroom all day, where you are kept distracted by information you are unlikely to use in the real world; while being indoctrinated by the hidden curriculum, which prioritises your conformity.

During this time, your active imagination and high energy are considered disruptive, rather than tools to develop the mind.

You see, in this society, an expanding mind sounds great until it challenges the status quo.

That’s when it becomes a threat.

Throughout human history and up until now, there have been so many people with amazing minds, who have made groundbreaking discoveries – scientific findings that disprove much of what we are being taught, inventions that render many paid services futile, medicinal cures that we are told, to date, do not exist.

But what has happened?

Those individuals have been isolated, shut down, mislabelled, targeted and their ideas hidden from the rest of the world, while we continue to complain about problems they have already provided solutions for.

Of course, we as individuals do not control which ideas can make it into the mainstream nor can we change the education system.

What we CAN do, however, is make personal changes. We don’t have to allow our own minds to be limited to what we are being fed.

We can go beyond the surface and learn what we aren’t being taught. We can cultivate our own ideas, regardless of how much society tries to limit us, and encourage others to do the same.

When we, as a society, make the collective decision to explore the maximum potential of our minds, absolutely nothing can stop the human consciousness from growing.
