Is holding on holding back your evolution?

In order to move up and evolve into a better version of you, you need to carry a lighter load. This means letting go of emotional baggage, old versions of yourself, trauma, bad habits, narratives, limiting relationships etc.

This, of course, doesn’t happen all at once. You go through many stages of growth throughout your lifetime and become many different versions of yourself.

Each time you level up, you are required to let go of some things, so that you have the capacity to embrace better things to come.

Higher levels require greater sacrifice.

The more you want out of life, the more you must be willing to give of yourself.

You cannot hold on to the old while trying to embrace the new.

It doesn’t work that way.

Inevitably, being that the human condition leaves us with quite a stubborn nature, I’m sure many of us learn this the hard way.

The very things that hold us back in life are the same things we try to take with us when it’s our time to progress to a higher level.

And the more we try to force this to work, the more we’re held back.

This is life showing us that we can’t have it all. We cannot walk two paths at the same time.

You can either choose to sacrifice your own evolution for the sake of comfort or out of fear OR you can sacrifice what is holding you back and embrace the unknown.

Either way, you will be making a sacrifice.

It’s up to you to decide which sacrifice is actually worth making.

Ultimately, whatever doesn’t match the new frequency you want to align with will be removed from your life, either by force or voluntarily.

Whether you are the one to remove something from your life or life is removing it for you, detachment is the key.

This is the healing that must take place on a multi-dimensional level.

For example, if you are leaving a friendship that is stifling your growth, you may grieve the loss for a period of time, but there comes a point when that grief actually begins to hold you back from embracing better relationships...unless you detach mentally and emotionally.

Any loss will naturally come with grief, but it is how you move forward from it that will determine your ability to move forward and evolve.

The more you try to master the art of detachment, the shorter these grief periods become and the more rapid you will move on and grow from it.
