Protect Your Mind At All Costs

Your mind should be a place of solace. It should also be armed with your best defences. We could compare your mind to a garden, and you as the caretaker. Not only are you responsible for its growth, but you are also solely responsible for its protection.

When we see it in this way, more of our responsibilities become apparent.

Though we may not want to admit it, we sometimes treat our minds like a dumping ground, hiding our worst thoughts away from the outside world.

Now, we are by no means perfect, but in the same way we would have to protect a garden from harmful weeds and pests, we must guard our minds against anything that could cause our mental environment to become unhealthy or unsafe for us...even if it comes from us.

Additionally, we must be vigilant and protect our minds from negative external forces. This could include people, places or things that drain our energy. Lower our mood or require a disproportionate amount of effort.

Galvanising our mental weaknesses prevents our thoughts and emotions from easily being manipulated. This requires a proactive and consistent approach.

Being proactive here means that you have systems in place that protect your mind from all negativity.

This might involve maintaining positive influences around you, general self-care, affirmations and even goal setting.

Such practices build your mental strength and give you a stronger sense of self, which ultimately dampens the effect of any antagonistic forces. They will also ensure that you will have peace within regardless of where you are or what is happening around you.

Make sure your mind always feels like home.
