Be Kind to Your Mind

If you chose option A, then congratulations! You are a typical, functioning human! You do better when in a relaxed and positive state.


Your mind is the same way and how we speak to ourselves and what we say to ourselves is undeniably important.


Just because others can’t hear our thoughts, it doesn’t mean that our internal dialogue should go unfiltered. If you often speak to yourself in a condescending or sarcastic tone or engage in frequent self-disrespect, I’m here to warn you that you are really doing yourself a disservice.


By showing carelessness in how you talk to yourself you are destroying your mind from the inside out. It becomes a vicious cycle where you tear yourself down, worsen your confidence and performance then further punish yourself for that.


This is a path of self-destruction.


Negative programming from childhood can contribute to or initiate this cycle, where limiting beliefs could have been imposed and internalised.


However, it is our job to interrupt this pattern / programming by choosing to speak to ourselves honestly AND positively.


We need to practise self-acceptance, grace and self-compassion. In doing so, you are actually encouraging yourself to slow down and take care of you FIRST rather than getting so caught up in today’s fast-paced culture.


A part of transforming how you speak to yourself is challenging all negative thoughts or voices.


Detach your inner voice from that of your inner critic and actively reprogram your mind with positive beliefs and affirmations.


With commitment to these practices, you will naturally boost your confidence and self-esteem.


You see, when you are kind to your mind, nothing can stand in your way.
