Harmful habits blocking your success

Most people want success, but inadvertently get in their own way by practising these harmful habits...

1) Comparison ⚖️

It's natural for us to compare ourselves to others, but obsessing over these comparisons is exactly what keeps us from seeing ourselves as successful.

Every moment you spend watching somebody else, is a moment you could be investing into yourself. Don't let your jealousy of others' success be what holds you back from your own.

2) Moving on too quickly🏃🏿‍♀️💨

For most, success is only something to be pursued, so as soon we accomplish one thing, we're immediately chasing the next.

This blocks our success because we have made it the norm to ignore milestones and key moments that pave the way for our bigger goals, not realising that the journey itself is what matters the most.

3) Unrealistic expectations 🦸🏿‍♀️

The one-size-fits-all portrayal of success perpetuated by society goes against the very diversity that exists between us as people.

We are all individuals with our own ideas and standards, so what success looks like for each of us is different and we should embrace that.

Unfortunately, when we're fixated on these standardised (and harmful) ideas of success, we hold unrealistic expectations of ourselves, others and life itself.

And when these unrealistic expectations aren't met, it leads to chronic dissatisfaction, confusion and a whole cascade of avoidable issues.

This ultimately blocks your ability to work towards success because you never actually realise what it looks like for you personally.

4) Depending on external validation 👏🏿

We often allow others' opinions and perceptions to dictate how we walk through life, rather than following our internal compass.

The problem with this is that everyone's compass is leading them to different places, and many will not end up where you want to be.

So following others - even if you consider them successful - will not necessarily lead you to your own success.

Sometimes it could even take you off the path.
