We tend to use the word "success" as though it has a fixed definition, but there are times when our definition of success is actually detrimental to us.
Here are some signs that you need to reevaluate how you define success...
1) Burnout 😮💨
Often, burnout is evidence that we are working towards our goals in an unhealthy and unsustainable way.
More than that, I think it is a big sign that the idea of success you have been chasing is actually detrimental to your health.
Maybe your new definition of success should at least include you being ALIVE and in optimal health...
2) You're moving too fast 🏃🏿♀️💨
Rushing past your goals to quickly set new ones doesn't allow you to acknowledge your accomplishments.
Constantly shifting the goal post centres your life around CHASING success without ever reaching it.
Perhaps this is works for short-term goals, but in the long-term this leads to chronic dissatisfaction unmet expectations and disappointment.
Success is not supposed to be an impossibility. It is supposed push you to unlock your full potential without ruining how you experience the journey itself.
3) Complacency 🥱
Having absolutely no desire to grow in any capacity is very different to being content.
Our bodies and minds are built to constantly grow, learn and adapt. Refusing to do so completely robs you of the opportunity to unlock your full potential.
Success should stretch you in a positive way, not affirm your lack of growth.
