Your purpose is in your hands...

What kind of person are you?

Are you the person who can keep their head down and work hard until the job gets done?

OR

Are you someone who needs a lot of encouragement from others in order to keep going?

If you would describe yourself as the latter, it would benefit you to take a leaf out of the former’s book.

Being internally motivated is an advantage that completely sets you apart.

When you don’t rely on external validation to propel you, nothing can hold you back from pursuing your purpose.

You get accustomed to constantly giving yourself that encouragement. You come up with methods to keep your motivation so strong that nothing and no one (including yourself) can create doubt or hinder you.

When you’re walking in your purpose, you will frequently revisit your WHY, which helps to keep you forward, especially when you’re feeling weary.

Growing weary is an inevitable part of the process, but learning to reduce pressure on yourself by taking breaks (instead of completely giving up) and prioritising your positive intentions and consistent efforts over expecting big results, makes it much less likely.

This mindset shift makes it easier for you to stay committed, because you start to enjoy what you’re doing again and it allows you to bring fresh ideas and more energy to your work, without heavily depending on others for a boost.

When you are dependent on external motivation, you are essentially placing your purpose in the hands of others, who cannot see the bigger picture, and therefore, do not understand your purpose.

The same goes for feeling the need to justify your pat to others. Just by trying to meet expectations or make your value easily quantifiable, you are inherently restricting yourself and diminishing your value.

Remember: your path is different and not necessarily supposed to be understood by others.

And that is completely fine.

You have to be okay with being different if you are serious about living in your purpose.
