Ways to get comfortable with self-expression

Part of getting back to your authentic self requires you to get comfortable with self-expression again. Here's how you can start...

1) Reflection


Reflecting on the activities you enjoyed during childhood can be a great way to remind yourself and tap in to the best forms of self-expression for you.


2) Heal emotionally


Expression and creation come from the heart. When you haven't fixed your broken heart, you will often struggle to express yourself.


Once you've healed emotionally, self-expression will no longer feel like a foreign state of being, but it will become an important aspect of your life.


3) Stop judging yourself


You get enough judgement from the world already, don't make it worse by adding on to it yourself. Be that safe space for you to express yourself freely and fully embrace it!


4) Set Boundaries


Give yourself the means to enjoy the journey of self-exploration and set boundaries to protect that process.


If that means you need every Saturday morning to try out activities you might like, then do that! Make time and space to get in touch with that side of you.
