Steps to Reclaiming Your Inner Peace

After years of living in chaos, it takes time to reclaim your inner peace. Here are some steps that can help get you started...
1) Clean up!
Most of the time, the primary factor for the disruption of our peace is the fact that we keep so much unnecessary things in our lives.
Reclaiming your peace starts with remove toxicity from every area of your life: toxic people, toxic habits, toxic environments and toxic thoughts.
Whether you start by leaving a toxic friendship or just deep cleaning your house, the sooner you get it done, the sooner you'll reclaim your peace!
2) Practise gratitude
When your mind is preoccupied with everything that is not going right in your life, you cannot possibly be at peace.
Shifting your perspective and allowing yourself to focus on everything that IS going right, gives your mind the freedom to appreciate life in general.
A mind filled with gratitude is a mind at peace.
3) Non-negotiable 'me-time'
Most people spend more time living for the external. Their lives may look fruitful on the outside, but their internal life is neglected and inactive.
True peace can only ever come from within.
Once you prioritise spending more meaningful time with self, peace will find you.
4) Improve your focus
The way we live our lives often pulls our attention in so many different directions. It scatters our thoughts and our emotional energy.
Learning how to focus the mind and blot out all the external noise gives you a glimpse into what peace truly feels like.
As you practise this more and more, peace will become your default.
5) Understand your comfort zone
You must know when is it necessary to step out of your comfort zone for the purpose of growth; and you must also know when to rest inside of your comfort zone for the purpose of peace.
Being clear in this distinction allows you to enjoy your peace without the added feelings of guilt.
