Have you ever asked yourself whether your perspective is really your own? Here are some signs that it may not be...

1) You don't know why you think what you think❓❓❓

When you trace back the origins of that perspective you cannot identify how it relates directly to you. You have no experiences to support it and you don't know what caused you to adopt that belief.

It just seems to be an idea that found its way into your mind through no logical means.

2) Emotional opinions 😤

You quickly become triggered and defensive when presented with opposing ideas or evidence.

You don't have a logical connection to the opinion you hold. Instead, you have attached yourself to the idea emotionally and even gone so far as to embedding it within your identity.

So when reality dismantles the illusion you've accepted, rather than using your skills of reasoning, you experience a level of confusion and anger that can only be explained by cognitive dissonance.

3) Illogical arguments 🤨

When your perspective is not your own, you cannot argue with logic and reason when it is questioned, because that's not how you developed that perspective.

You're more likely to shut down and ignore any information that doesn't match your beliefs.

Even trying to reconcile your beliefs within your own mind becomes difficult.

When you can't even make it make sense to yourself, you know you're in dangerous territory.
