Intuition Supersedes Logic

Have you ever been in a situation where you have had a bad feeling about something? You didn’t know why, but something just felt...off. Everything seemed fine, so you didn’t listen to your gut. You continued on as if everything was normal.

And then BOOM!!

Something bad happened. Something that did warrant the bad feeling you had inside earlier.

That is an example of what we call intuition.

I like to think of intuition as an internal navigation system led solely by your higher self.

It doesn’t follow the orthodox pathway of processing empirical information, but somehow it has the foresight to protect and guide us.

Sometimes it can be hard to follow your intuition or even understand what it is trying to communicate to you in the first place.

Our overly-analytical mind will try to use its limited resources to logically interpret a situation.

And by the time it figures anything out (if indeed it does), it’s too late to do anything about it in some cases.

The benefit of having intuition is that it isn’t influenced by past traumas or experiences and it isn’t hampered by prejudices. It is governed by a higher awareness and understanding.

Differentiating between the compulsions of your intuition versus your emotions is complicated for most of us. It’s easy to get the wires crossed.

However, there are some distinct ways that you can determine whether you are being compelled by your emotions or by your intuition.

Becoming in-tune with the language of your higher self (intuition) requires you to go on your own journey of self-discovery.

Everybody’s experience and understanding will be different, but certain frequent practices can enhance your ability to tap in:

1)   Self-Reflection

Taking time to reflect on how your mind works and particular indicators will help you to identify, with more certainty, what to look out for when your intuition is activated.

2)   Emotional Regulation

Having regular emotional maintenance strategies (ref. pg 34 Original Vol) to keep your emotional health in an optimal state can be very effective. It gives you the power to reduce the intensity and “noise” of your emotions, so you can hear your intuition clearer.

3)   Silence

The purpose of embracing silence is to reduce the stimuli and “noise” of everyday life, so you can turn your attention inwards.

4)   Meditation

Meditating allows you to go deeper within the silence and draw higher knowledge into you.

The more you make these practices a part of your regular routine, the easier you will find it to make important decisions that align with your intuition.
