The hunt for truth

Our world is full of information. Some of it true, some of it untrue and the rest is a mixture of both.

It can be a difficult task to search for truth.

Most people are happy to have the truth (or what they believe to be the truth) filtered and fed down to them via other people they admire, look up to or trust.

The problem here is that people are fallible. They make mistakes. They get misled. They change their minds. They get confused.

Of course, you don’t live in a vacuum, so the path you take as you’re on the hunt for truth will naturally include many different influences, which is absolutely fine.

But because of this, we need to be focused enough and think critically enough to follow the truth and ONLY truth - NOT the individuals who claim to share it.

You must know how to ask the right questions, because although we are surrounded by truths, we are also surrounded by lies and illusion.

This is where your high level of discernment comes into play (read all ‘DISCERNMENT’ blogs here).

Through discernment, you will be able to recognise what truth is when it is presented to you and you will know where to search for it without being terribly misled.

It may not seem this way, but you are in a very precarious position when you are on the hunt for truth.

Why?

Because your mind is open and, often times, we have our own biases that determine what we want to hear, learn and accept, which can be a trap all on its own.

There are individuals who will be happy to tell you whatever you want to hear, sprinkling some truth and lead you astray.

You have to be able to tune out the noise – the misinformation, the disinformation, the charismatic personas, the familiarity, the enticing words, the propaganda - and forge ahead towards real answers.

Searching for truth requires you to have discipline, self-awareness and incredible focus.
