There are moments for all of us, where we have found the truth to be a bitter pill to swallow. Here's why the truth often rubs you the wrong way...

1) You live in a bubble 🫧

When you've spent most of your life in spaces that don't challenge your way of thinking, you slowly but surely begin to see the world with tunnel vision.

This makes it harder to accept a truth that differs to your own world view.

2) You don't think for yourself 💭

A critical thinker can deconstruct their own views and reconstruct new ones without it shattering their world.

Being presented with an opposing idea is only emotionally distressing if your current ideas were initially forged with emotions rather than logic.

When you have your own mind, your thoughts are your own, you can use logic to determine what is real and what is not and come to your own conclusions.

3) False narratives give you comfort 🛌

Sometimes we may cling to untruths because it feels comfortable.

Believing that "people always do me wrong" is a much easier illusion to handle, rather than the truth that "I need to work on my discernment".

Some lies validate our victimhood, while the truth can put the responsibility on us.
