You’ve survived all of life’s curveballs. Why would this time be any different?
Life has its ups and downs and you’ve survived them all. It didn’t always feel like you would. Sometimes it felt like there was absolutely no way out, like this was the end of the road for you.
But right when you least expected it, you figured your way out. Someone reached out and helped save you from the abyss. Circumstances perfectly aligned so you could get back on the right path.
Somehow you survived.
Your past experiences and ultimate triumphs are proof that you can and will overcome anything life throws at you...no matter what.
Now, when you look back and realise this, doesn’t it make you feel a little silly when you also realise that the amount of panic and stress you felt at the time wasn’t actually necessary?
Retrospectively, did your panic improve the situation or make it worse?
Probably the latter, right?
You see, when you are emotional, your perception of circumstances becomes skewed and even how you perceive the outcomes might be inaccurate.
Stress and worry will cause you to see obstacles rather than opportunities, limiting your field of vision, which continues the cycle of negative emotions.
Remember, emotions are extremely powerful, especially because of how deeply they affect your thoughts.
Every time you resort to catastrophic thinking, you are limiting your own ability to adapt. Not only that, but it is a waste of time and energy that you could be using in more constructive ways.
Even complaining and ruminating can be adverse to your desired situational outcomes.
Why?
Because instead of practising gratitude and appreciating the things you currently have – that you may have hoped for once upon a time – you are ignoring the blessings that you continue to benefit from.
Taking things for granted while longing for what you don’t have or how life isn’t just shows that when eventually life does turn out in your favour, you’ll end up not fully appreciating it anyway.
When you have an attitude of gratitude you are ultimately rebalancing your own energy and attracting more blessings and better circumstances to come your way.
This growth mindset gets you in the habit of not only being able to see more opportunities, but coupled with proactivity, might even allow you to prevent situations from worsening.
Daily activities, such as journaling, praying, meditating and sticking to a consistent routine, allows time for situations to play out fully, rather than being prematurely affected by irrational action. Demonstrating mastery over your emotions, thoughts and actions is one of the most powerful things you can do in the face of uncertainty.
It is your biggest act of faith.
Keep calm and have faith 🙏🏿✨
