Do your failures have a purpose?

What happens when you set a realistic goal for yourself, put in the necessary work, yet you still fail to achieve it?
What was the point of all that?
Was it life playing a cruel joke on you?
Or did it pan out that way for a reason?
In order to answer this, we have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
The goals you set for yourself are like mini pit-stops along your journey towards purpose. You do what is necessary to get to them, even though you’ll soon move on to the next one after doing so.
Sometimes you might get lost on your way there or change your mind entirely and move towards a different goal.
But what is most important along this windy journey is who you are becoming at every step of the way.
You may not notice it, but each time you travel towards a goal (regardless of whether you achieve it or not), you are becoming a different person by way of new knowledge, skills and experiences.
And maybe that’s why we sometimes don’t achieve certain goals.
Maybe the purpose of the goal was to give us something to focus on and to serve as a training ground for our own self-improvement, rather than achieving the goal itself.
This is why it’s important that we don’t become too attached to the outcomes and our expectations, but instead that we focus on what we are becoming throughout the process.
THAT is what truly matters, because through these experiences and continuous self-education you are slowly transforming into the person you need to be in order to step into your purpose.
Your experiences may not all make sense right now, but you can be certain that they play an important part in your development.
Your purpose is going to demand a lot from you, and the more wisdom you gain, the better equipped you’ll be to handle what comes in the future.
When you identify and understand the significance of certain patterns in your life, it accelerates your ability to adapt and life begins to happen FOR you instead of TO you.
You will start to be PROactive instead of REactive.
Not only does this enable you to bear the full weight of fulfilling your purpose, but it allows you to share your wisdom and help others learn from you as well.
