1) Enduring ups and downs
As you dig down to your authentic layers, you'll be stretched far beyond your range of comfort. Your unhealed self will be forced into triggering situations and how you handle them will indicate your growth.
Sometimes you'll be proud of yourself and other times you'll be disappointed, but sticking to the journey through all the ups and downs build your resilience in the long haul.
2) Societal defiance
Society will attack you for choosing to direct your energy inward rather than using it to fuel a broken system.
You won't be overtly attacked, no, but you may notice that your failure to conform to unspoken societal expectations reaps different, less favourable outcomes than if you were to be "just like everyone else".
3) Withheld approval
Authenticity means you're going against the grain and usually people struggle against change, especially at first.
As a result, those around you will often choose not to validate you, they won't acknowledge the courageous steps you've taken, even if it inspires them.
Having to move forward with very little approval forces you to develop greater resilience.
