The path to knowing yourself it involves stripping away the false identities you've acquired over time. This transition can resemble an identity crisis.
Here's what authentic people do during this phase:
1) Accept What Is
Often what makes an identity crisis worse is the fact that we wish things were different.
Whether it be with our personality, our circumstances or the world itself, our dissatisfaction adds to the frustration of being disconnected with self.
Accepting what is is the fastest way to figure out who you are and how you got to this point in life. Although it's difficult, authentic people do so and this enables them to pull themselves out of this "identity crisis".
2) Touch base with self
Going through an identity crisis is a sign that one has lost touch with self. Authentic people, in an effort to completely rebuild themselves, unconsciously return back to the things that resonate with who they are at their core.
3) Make a plan
A crisis of identity can leave you in a lost and confused state.
Authentic people respond to this by figuring out an action plan that can gradually help them out of this state of mind and get them b ack on the right path.
